Small WEEE, Spent Batteries or Used Clothes? Bring Them to Portanuova!
Do you have an old mobile phone tucked away in a drawer, dead batteries, small electronic devices you no longer use, or clothes that have been waiting for a second life for far too long? It’s time to clear them out!
On 12 and 13 November, Portanuova will host two days dedicated to the collection of small WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), spent batteries and textile waste. It’s an easy way to make space at home while helping the environment, because recycling correctly is the first step towards a more sustainable future.
You’ll find four collection points, open to everyone and located throughout the neighbourhood:
- Promenade Varesine: in the outdoor area next to Samsung.
- Piazza Gae Aulenti: by the staircase between the Nike Store and Illy Caffè.
- Anna Politkovskaja Gardens: opposite the stairs connecting Garibaldi Station to Piazza Gae Aulenti.
- Piazza Luigi Einaudi: in the courtyard of P35.
The initiative kicks off on Thursday, 12 November, at 10:00 a.m. with an opening conference open to everyone at Samsung Smart Arena, focusing on sustainability and the circular economy.
And there’s more! On both days, at Samsung AI Home, you’ll be able to take part in interactive activities and watch selected excerpts from Materia Viva, a documentary by Erion created to raise public awareness of the proper management of WEEE. It’s a great opportunity to discover why disposing of these items correctly is so important to ensure they can be recycled.
The initiative is promoted by Portanuova, with the support of Samsung, AMSA, Erion WEEE, Erion Energy and Erion Textiles, to encourage everyone who lives in or visits the neighbourhood to adopt a more conscious approach to waste management.
Save the dates, choose the collection point that’s most convenient for you, and bring along anything you no longer use. Even a small gesture can make a difference!
