UnipolSai Tower

As you walk the 900-m elevated promenade between Piazza Alvar Aalto and Piazza Gae Aulenti (the longest pedestrian path in town), you will reach the curious construction site of the long-awaited UnipolSai Tower (125 m high). Designed by Mario Cucinella, it will be adjacent to the main square of the District. Wood, metal, and glass harmonically combined to form a vertical web-like structure, a metaphor of the relationship network. The building will host – on its roof – a panoramic greenhouse/garden, with spaces designed for cultural events. A sort of “vertical nest”, giving the complex its name.
